Even when cleaned and placed in the recycle bin, most plastic lip balm tubes are too small for recycling machines, or are made of different plastics and materials that can't be recycled together. Unfortunately, this means they end up getting filtered out and taken to landfills.

We can reduce the harm caused from these everyday items by reusing, refilling, composting, or recycling them. SuLu strives to make that process as simple as possible without sacrificing the convenience of these items and improving the overall quality.

Through our partnership with CleanHub, SuLu is supporting the removal of 200 pounds of plastic from our planet's most vulnerable locations before it ends up in our seas and oceans. Check out our progress, every purchase gets us closer to our goal!

Paperboard Lip Balm Refill Tubes

Our paperboard tubes are made using recycled paper, constructed with rice glue and lined with soybean wax. The labels are printed directly onto the tubes using eco friendly plant dyes.

Cardboard Shipping Boxes

Our boxes are made with over 50% recycled paper, sealed with paper tape, and use paper shipping labels. The branded box design uses a method called Flexo printing, ultimately giant stamps, which use water based dye.

Shipping

We are reducing carbon emissions by simplifying our shipping frequencies. Subscriptions are shipped every four months with a four month supply. By using existing shipping routes and preplanning our deliveries, we are able to utilize more efficient routes that deploy fewer trucks for a quicker delivery. To further guarantee our commitment to carbon neutrality, we have partnered with the Planet app, ensuring every order remains carbon neutral.
